Romney Remembers A Media Political Legend

Former Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is  speaking at the convention on behalf of U.S. Senator John McCain (and the presumptive party  nominee)

In a meeting with reporters before the sold out dinner, Governor Romney took a moment to reflect on the sudden and shocking death of Tim Russert, the host of NBC’s Meet the Press (he collapsed and died of a heart attack)

“He proved to be an equal opportunity inquisitor,”  said Romney about Russert. “He knew how to be tough on members of both parties. You knew you would get tough questions, but they were fair questions.”

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

I thought Tim Russert was one of the BEST.  I watch Meet the  Press every Sunday.

Sometimes its on in the background while I clean house, talk on the phone or visit with company. Somehow I always found myself stopping to listen AND watch.

Russert had a way of interviewing really important people, and getting them to answer the tough questions.

He never came across as arrogant or mean.

I felt like I was just watching one of my good friends or neighbors ask the questions I wanted to ask.

It felt like a conversation.

A conversation that will continue, but it will never be the same without Tim Russert.
