The CEO of Shriners Hospital in Galveston has scheduled a meeting with employees on Monday afternoon.
The workers are learning more about the hospital’s plans to suspend operations due to a financial crisis caused by Hurricane Ike and the struggling economy.
Not everyone is happy with that decision, including this woman who would not give me her name as she stood in front of the building where the meeting is taking place.
More than 300 people are being layed off, and burn patients will have to seek treatment at Shriners Hospitals out of state.
Shriners has the only burn center for children in Texas.
