Go Tejano Day Sets A New Rodeo Record!

It’s always been one of the most popular events  during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and this Sunday  Go Tejano Day set an ALL TIME PAID ATTENDANCE RECORD.

According to rodeo officials who sent the information to me, the paid attendance for  Go Tejano Day 2009 was 74,147.

That’s the highest paid attendance ever recorded during the Rodeo, according to media spokesperson Sarah Poole and HLS&R executive Leroy Shafer.

That’s a really big deal considering that Go Tejano day has been criticized in the past for not featuring a Tejano star.

Then there are the questions about scholarships, diversity and transparency that have been raised by a coalition of  Hispanic and African American community leaders.

Calling for Rodeo Protest
