A Victory For Houston and Mayor White

The city of Houston won a major legal victory on Thursday when a jury returned a verdict against the El Rondo Motor Lodge in Sunnyside.

As 2 on the Beat reported, Mayor Bill White attended the closing arguments in a case that pitted the city against what the Mayor describes as “hot sheet” motels.

After winning a court injunction against the hourly El Rondo earlier this year,   the city went to court to have it  permanently shut down.

Residents  living near the unpopular property have longed complained about prostitution and drugs.

According to the city, several more similar cases are pending in court.
