UPDATE: I’ve added new photos from the Houston Tea Party – sorry for the delay. I misplaced my camera cable yesterday.
2 on the Beat is covering several Tax Day Tea Party Protests today – from Pasadena to downtown Houston.
All across the country people are holding Tea Party rallies to protest what they call “unprecedented government spending.”
Critics have labeled these events anti-President Obama demonstrations organized by conservatives and the Republican Party.
The folks I spoke with during a noon rally in Pasadena are passionate and say this is not about republicans, democrats or the president, but about protecting Americans from being over-taxed.
Pasadena Mayor Johnny Isbell was one of the speakers firing up the crowd. I doubt we will see Mayor Bill White at the Tea Party in Houston later this afternoon.
What do you think about the Tea Party Protests? Do you agree or disagree with the message that organizers say they are trying to send to Washington D.C.?
