Flag Fight On UH Campus

It’s a symbol that’ s  considered offensive, hurtful and a source of anguish to countless Vietnamese Americans.

On Monday, State Representative Hubert Vo (D-Houston) persuaded his colleagues in the Texas House to support his resolution urging the University of Houston and other colleges to stop displaying the red flag of the Socialist Republic of  Vietnam.

Representative Vo wants colleges to fly a different flag.

It’s yellow and called the “Freedom and Heritage Flag”.

  1. This is the correct flag of the majority of the Vietnamese Americans who are living in Texas. They are the ones who contribute to Texas economy, and their children are going to school here to help building America. There are only a few students who came from Vietnam just to go to school, then they will go back to serve their red flag with one star. We should not display that red flag. The yellow flag is the right one to display. Congratulations and thanks to the Vietnamese Americans.
