Days after reporting a successful campaign fund-raising effort, Houston Mayoral Candidate Gene Locke has picked up two big endorsements.
The Houston Apartment Association Better Government Fun PAC has voted to endorse Locke. In a statement the group stated, “Gene Locke’s polices are most clearly aligned with our industry and our objectives. His outlook on the role government should play in the future of Houston presents our industry and our city with the greatest opportunity for growth.
According to it’s news release the PAC chose to make the maximum allowable contribution under city law of $10,000 to Locke’s campaign.

Also, the Greater Houston Homebuilders Political Action Committee, HOME-PAC has announced it’s support for Locke.
“Gene has a personal and professional background that uniquely qualifies him to be the next mayor of the City of Houston, said Jim Holcomb, chairman of HOME-PAC. “He is the only candidate in the race who has the leadership, vision and experience needed to bring grown and to create jobs in our city.

Endorsements and campaign donations are important in political campaigns, but ultimately it’s about making sure ordinary voters understand the candidates message and agenda.
As someone has said before, money doesn’t vote and endorsements only matter if they can get people to the polls.
Gene Locke endorsed by Bob Lanier’s corporate slumlords and developers. Why am I not surprised?
Some things never change.
