The Race For Harris County Tax Assessor Collector

Saying that she wants to “change the way people think about the tax office”  Democrat Diane Trautman has announced plans to challenge Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Leo Vasquez next year.

Trautman ran in November and lost to former Republican Tax Assessor Collector Paul Bettencourt. 

You may remember that Bettencourt resigned three weeks after the election  to open his own company.  The Harris County Commissioners Court named Vasquez, who has to run in 2010 if he wants to stay in office.

Trautman has been telling her supporters that she plans to run for office, and she now has an official Facebook page.
