New Rules For Health Care Town Halls Meetings

Houston Congressman Al Green (D-District 9) has established  a new set of rules  for  his upcoming town hall meeting on health care reform.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2009. From 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Power Center – 12,401 South Post Oak.

In an effort to be fair,  anyone who wants to ask a question about health care reform  will have to write down his or her  name on a piece of paper.

Someone from Green’s office will collect those names and put them in a box or bowl.  Only the people whose names are randomly selected will be allowed to ask questions.

As you know,  many of the health care town hall meetings in Houston, and across the country,  have been disrupted by angry shouting and fighting.

Congressman Green wants critics and supporters of  health care reform to feel like they can speakup without fear or intimidation.

Interpreters  will be available for those who speak  Spanish, Vietnamese or  Chinese.

If you need more information about the meeting, you can call Congressman Green’s office at 713-383-9234.
