One day before the September 2, 2009 filing deadline, Houston City Council member Peter Brown (At-Large Position 1) has officially filed paperwork to run for Mayor of Houston.
Brown submitted both the required $1,250 filing fee, along with more than one thousand signatures to get on the ballot for the November 3, 2009 election.
His campaign says they collected signatures as a way to “build momentum in their grassroots campaign.”
After four years on city council, Brown told KPRC Local 2 that he is running to “continue the great work done by our current Mayor , Bill White.”
He’s gained fewer endorsements than Annise Parker or Gene Locke, but Brown is the only mayoral candidate who is running TV political ads.
Way to go Peter! Keep up the great fight.
