Sesame Street Takes On Swine Flu – But Where’s Ms. Piggy?

Elmo and Gordon from the Sesame Street Gang are featured in new public service announcements designed to encourage American children and families to practice healthy habits,  and to take steps to prevent the spread of  the H1N1 flu virus, also known as swine flu.

The PSA’s, which were produced by the Department of  Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Education and Sesame Street,  will soon be playing on a TV station near you.

According to health experts, younger children and their parents are some of the people most at risk from the flu virus,

It’s a good reminder and public service that is being provided by Sesame Street, but  why don’t the public service announcements  feature Ms. Piggy instead of  Elmo and Godon?
