State Rep-Elect Ron Reynolds Celebrates Victory

 MISSOURI CITY, TX (March 4, 2010) – Ron Reynolds has clinched the DemocraticVictory Ron nomination of Fort Bend County’s State Representative House District 27 against incumbent Dora Olivo. Reynolds garnered 5,159 votes (57.6 percent) to Olivo’s 3,791 votes (42.4 percent). With no Republican candidate opposing, Ron Reynolds will become the first African American State Representative in Fort Bend County’s House District 27. During his campaign watch party, Reynolds addressed his supporters saying, “I’d like to thank Representative Olivo for her service to Fort Bend County, and I look forward to continuing to champion the issues important to the citizens of District 27.”  

“I am humbled the citizens in our District have so enthusiastically voted for the issues our campaign represents. I look forward to working hard for our District and making a marked impact by advocating for high-quality education, affordable health care and economic empowerment for our community.”  

“My gratitude and thanks also is extended to our campaign volunteers and supporters. Our success is entirely due to their never-ending support and encouragement.”

    Allow me to begin by saying congratulations on your recent victory. Now that you hold the position, is it your intention to follow your rhetoric? The words you uttered to win the election must be the words by which you govern.
