TONIGHT: Rep. Turner Community Town Hall Meeting

Houston Rep. Turner will be hosting a community town hall meeting Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the former Riverway Church located at 6700 Antoine. Rep. Turner will be joined by the Near Northwest Management District, Weed and Seed Program, and the Greater Inwood Partnership who are organizations that will share the amazing positive work they have performed in the community.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear from city officials on the status of several apartments along Antoine, Desoto, Hollyview, West Little York and several others. “I am aware that the City of Houston has plans to demolish several of these apartments and I believe the community and others are eager to know when this will happen,” stated Rep. Sylvester Turner. Apartment owners, managers, residents and homeowners of the area are all invited.

  • Angela Dotson, Chief Inspector, Neighborhood Protection
  • Assistant Chief John Trevino, Houston Police Department
  • Dr. Steve Head, President, Lone Star Community College
  • Daryl Wade, Director of Major League Baseball/Astros Youth Academy
  • Amy Arrington, Houston Apartment Association
