Controversial firefighter Jane Draycott was drinking at her daughter’s gravesite only hours before she was arrested at a local Wal-Mart for allegedly shoplifting.
That’s according to Draycott’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, who also told 2 On The Beat that Draycott simply “cracked from the pressure.”
On Monday evening, Dracycott was arrested for allegedly walking out of a Wal-Mart in northwest Harris County without paying for a dvd player, two movies (Clash of The Titans and Repomen) and a bag of ice. The items total more than $200.
If Draycott’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she is the same firefighter who claimed she found sexist graffiti and a defaced picture of her deceased daughter hanging from her locker at fire station #54
The case was never solved and Draycott has returned to work at station #54.
Many people have said privately and publicly that they believe Draycott made up the story or is somehow responsible for the graffiti found on her locker.
But Draycott has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
She is expected to make her first court appearance on August 17, 2010.
At that time we will hear more about the pressure she was facing that allegedly caused her to “crack” and attempt to steal merchandise from the Wal-Mart.
