KPRC Anchor Honored During Salute to Veterans Event

Congratulations to my friend and coworker, KPRC Anchor Bill Balleza.  On Friday, Bill was honored with a “Heart of  Service” award during the Salute to Veterans lunch sponsored by the Houston West Chamber of Commerce. 

Bill, who served in Vietnam, is pictured here with his wife Melissa and fellow honoree Army Staff Sgt. Eric Maddox.

Maddox served in Iraq and is the author of  Mission Black List #1, the inside story of  the search for Saddam Hussein as told by the soldier who masterminded his capture.

The Chamber’s Salute to Veterans luncheon event was held to recognize men and women who serve or have served in our military.  
The “Heart of Service” Award is given each year to one or more of the most honorable individuals.
