HCSO’S NEWEST K-9 DEPUTIES
(HOUSTON, TX) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) welcomes four of its newest members – K-9 Deputies Boomer, Fozzie, Mikey and Tamara.
On April 5, Commissioner’s Court approved the donation of the animals from K-9’s 4 Cops, a nonprofit organization that provides law enforcement agencies with specially trained canines. The K-9 deputies are highly trained dogs that can detect controlled substances, explosives, suspects, and missing or lost people.
“This is a tremendous donation,” said Sheriff Adrian Garcia. “With current budget constraints we are extremely grateful to K-9’s 4 Cops for the addition of these newest members to the HCSO. These trained dogs are valuable partners to our law enforcement community.”
The donation consists of two Belgian Malinois, one giant Schnauzer and one German Shepherd and brings the HCSO K-9 units to a total of 13.
A big thank you to K-9’s 4 Cops!
