I’m hearing a lot of speculation about who will be appointed to fill the unexpired term on the HISD board after trustee Diana Davilla officially resigns on Thursday.
Davilla plans to step down more than a year before her term ends.
When contacted on Wednesday, board president Harvin Moore told KPRC Local 2 that Davilla will make a special announcement at the beginning of Thursday’s meeting, but he wouldn’t confirm reports that she plans to step down.
Davilla was reelected to a four-year term in 2007. She represents district VIII which includes elementary, middle and high schools located in Houston’s east end.
