You have until Friday to take part in early voting for the runoff race to decide the winner of the State Senate District 17 seat.

On the first day of early voting on Monday, fewer than 4 thousand people cast their ballots.

In this holiday season, and without a presidential race on the ballot, the campaigns are facing a tough time getting people engaged and excited about returning the polls.
Election day is Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Senate District 17 includes parts of Brazoria, Chambers, Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston and Jefferson Counties.
