Council Member Wanda Adams is Protecting People From Deadly Heat
August 16, 2011

Ever since she heard about the tragic deaths of an elderly woman and her caretaker daughter, who lived in a home without air condition, Houston city council member Wanda Adams has vowed to protect other people from the deadly heat.

Adams sprung into action and started seeking donations from businesses and individuals.
The donated window units help keep
Houstonians cool.especially the elderly and disabled.

So far Adams and her team have received 29 donations. Most of those units have already been delivered to people in need.

Adams told me that she has spent a lot of her time driving throughout District D looking for those living without air conditioning in their homes.

If you would like to donate, call the office of Council Member Wanda Adams at 832-393-3001.
