Waiting for the Water to Recede
September 14, 2008

Flooding is creating a real traffic nightmare on Houston area freeways and feeder roads.

Mayor Bill White and other local leaders are asking people to stay home, and avoid getting on the road and contributing to the chaos.

On 45 northbound at Tidwell, flood waters forced Houston police to  shutdown  all but a single lane of traffic.

The water will eventually recede, but the roads need to stay clear so that FEMA and other emergency response groups can deliver supplies to Hurricane victims in the Houston area.
