Look Out for Plungers at the Polls
November 2, 2008

If you plan to vote on Tuesday – keep your eyes open for people holding toilet plungers at polling places around Harris County.

Yes, you read that correctly. Toilet plungers!

County Commissioner Steve Radack has announced that he has purchased over 1,000 plungers for use on election day.

The colorful  Republican commissioner is trying to send a message in support of Joe “The Plumber” Wurzelbacher.

He is the Ohio plumber  who was thrust into the national spotlight when he asked Democratic presidential Candidate Barack Obama about his tax plan.

The opposition quickly seized on Senator Obama’s comment that he wants to “spread the wealth.”

In a news release sent to 2 on the Beat, Commissioner Radack says he wants to energize  Harris County voters.

He plans to distribute the plungers to poll workers who will be supporting conservative candidates Tuesday.

One thing we can all agree on – this election season…and the political sideshows get  more interesting everyday.

Too bad it will all be over on Tuesday night!
